Course Spotlight: Take a closer look at Network Administration I and Web Technologies, part of the Computer Network Operations Associate in Occupational Studies Degree Program at Katharine Gibbs School New York.
TC275 Network Administration I This course is designed to
give students their first hands-on experience with an actual network
system by allowing them to assume the role of a network administrator.
The students will duplicate the steps of a real network professional in
building their own classroom network by configuring both client and
server equipment. End-of-the-chapter exercises will allow students to
practice how to create and manage directory objects, generate login
scripts, assign user rights, address file system security and share
resources such as printers and file storage. An introduction to the
server console completes this career-focused course.
TC256 Web Technologies
The Internet has changed the way we receive and exchange data. As time
goes on, the computers and software used by businesses will become more
dependent on the Internet. This course gives the student a solid
background in how to use the Internet as a tool. Exposure to the basics
of several data
communication systems is also integral to this course.
